Like Villard, Hatch was footing all expenses and worked to provide a first-class trip. Like so many descriptions of the park, it spoke in glowing terms about Yellowstone and the enjoyment experienced there. The account also mentioned that a photograph of the fish that President Arthur and Senator Vest had caught now hung in the lobby of the National Hotel. Although the party inquired about who caught more, no one would tell them.
